The "ATHLETIC PAD" is our newest pad in the Alivio riding pad series! The Athletic - Slim series is padded thinner with 2.5 cm front/back & 1.5 cm middle and has anatomically narrower SLIM Velcro cushions. Suitable for those for whom close sitting contact with the horse is more important than absolute sitting comfort.

Test report about the Athletic Pad

The anatomically cut ALIVIO ATHLETIC riding pad also combines the possibilities of a conventional riding pad

or bareback pads with the advantages of a flexible saddle. And yet when riding it feels more like a riding pad.

The Alivio Athletic surface is made of non-slip genuine suede. At the end of the blade it has an area sewn with soft nappa leather to minimize the abrasion caused by the rider's thigh movement. The underside is equipped with a pair of Velcro SLIM felt cushions

with a length of approx. 46/47 cm. With the help of these cushions, a WBS channel or physio structure is formed.

The cushions are made of a breathable soft felt cover and can be adjusted as needed

can be padded with inlays of different thicknesses and depending on the intensity of use

be reordered again.

The scope of delivery includes 1 pair of PUR foam with a thickness of 10 mm.

The cushions are Velcro and can be positioned differently on the underside.

In the ATHLETIC series, the SLIM Velcro cushions are cut approx. 2 cm narrower for even better contact in the thigh area

to offer. This can be an advantage for very wide horses.


The pad offers the rider various adjustment and usage options.

The underside is deliberately not made of anti-slip material or neoprene, but is made of it

In addition to the felt cushions made of breathable, normal cotton fabric like those you would find on the market

Note: Due to its thin padding, the Athletic Pad series generally has slight visible wrinkles in the suede when unused.

This is a natural appearance of the suede covering on the thin upholstery and is not a reason for complaint

or technical disadvantage. When strapped to the horse, the suede again tenses and becomes tighter.

Each skin is therefore a fascinating individual piece.

There is no dermis in nature that has uniform marbling over the entire surface.

Every tanned animal skin is unique in its texture, thickness,

and their behavior during dyeing and further processing.

The buffalo from which the leather comes spend their lives mainly outdoors and natural traces such as insect bites,

Scratches, slight scars, stretch wrinkles, etc. are normal.

Natural leather always has different structures in different parts of the skin.

But this is what characterizes the quality of genuine leather.

Differences in leather thickness, structure and color should therefore not be viewed as defects

but a unique and fascinating feature of nature..
