The Kimblewick is also called a spring curb. Because of its very light leverage, this bridle is one of the curb bridles. The leverage can be adjusted by buckling the reins into one of the two slots in the bit rings. If the upper slot is used, there is practically no leverage, and the lower one is relatively light. If the rein is simply buckled into the bit ring without using the slots, the intensity of the leverage can be determined by carrying the rein hand higher or lower.
